This volume of short stories was originally published in 1947 under the title Nineteen Stories. In this edition Graham Greene withdrew two stories The Lottery Ticket and The Other Side of the Border, and added four which were published in book form for the first time. They are The Hint of an Explanation, The Blue Film, Special Duties and The Destructors. The original dust jacket accompanies this book. Retains price to inner front prelim. A few small repairs to the rear of the dust jacket. Creasing to extremities, front panel and spine. Now housed in a removable plastic archival sleeve. Black cloth boards were lightly soiled but are now re-inked. End pages are browned. Light foxing occasional throughout.
